In order to guarantee the highest level of safety for the test drivers, the Boxberg Proving Ground has developed a comprehensive safety concept with both active and passive safety measures.

Not only have constructional measures such as crash barriers, stacked tires, and escape zones at the critical points been implemented, but organisational measures are also in place.

The number of vehicles on the individual tracks is limited by an electronic access-control system. Apart from this, the system only permits authorized vehicles to use the test tracks.

A fire-brigade vehicle and an ambulance are stationed at the proving ground and are always ready for operation.
