The driving-dynamics area (FDF) is a flat circular area and is constructed of joint-free asphalt. Overall diameter is 300 m. Here, braking manoeuvres, lane changes, J-turns, driving in a circle, or slalom driving can take place. For driving in a circle, markings are provided with radii of 25, 30, 50, 60, 80, 100, and 120 m. If required, a section of the driving-dynamics area can be flooded with water. In addition, the circular area is provided with markings for a handling track and for the various standard lane changes. Depending upon permission from the control center, the vehicle can also be directly driven onto the driving-dynamics area from the high-speed oval.
